    Bee For Battens is the National Charity For Batten Disease in Ireland, a
    part of the Saoirse Foundation, a registered non-profit charity in
    Ireland and is based in Co. Kerry.

    The Charity is growing and to ensure that we control and manage our
    future successfully we are looking for the right individuals to join us
    and BEE the difference.

    We are in the process at setting up a new office in Kerry and a hub office in Dublin.

    Charity Coordinator & Administrator

    Package & Remuneration:An
    appropriate package shall be offered to the right candidate.
    Remuneration is based on a position requiring a minimum of 26-32 hours
    per week, however the charity is flexible in its approach for the right
    candidate, and would consider a shorter working week if requested.

    The nature of the work will require a flexible approach to occasional
    evening and weekend working. On occasion, event & fundraising
    opportunities will dictate that you are required to work additional
    hours; a time in-lieu system will apply.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ability to recruit, manage and mobilise volunteers is central to this role
    • To disseminate information which will raise the charities profile and result in increased awareness & revenue
    • To develop and sustain lasting volunteer and donor relationships nationally
    • To attract, recruit, select, induct, train and coordinate volunteers in line with annual targets
    • Day to day volunteer management: coordinate, support, supervise and retain volunteers
    • Develop volunteer roles
    • Develop and amend volunteer policies and procedures
    • To build & maintain relationships with businesses, schools and community partners
    • Community & National Fundraising
    • To devise and coordinate an annual calendar of revenue generating
      fundraising activities e.g.   Public collections (church gate, flag day,
      concerts, football matches etc); Bag packs, marathons, seasonal hamper
      campaigns, adventure challenges (Skydive, trek)
    • To identify locations for counter collection boxes, to distribute, collect and monitor
    • To identify and propose new awareness campaigns & fundraising initiatives 

    Reporting

    • To provide weekly written update reports on charity events, awareness campaigns & fundraising activity
    • To prepare written monthly performance reports on charity activities for the CEO – actual performance versus projected  

    Administration

    • To manage the cost effective production of charity awareness items
      & community fundraising materials e.g. collection buckets, t-shirts,
      bibs, counter top collection boxes
    • To write content relating to community activities, events & fundraising projects for the website & social media sites
    • Develop & maintain the charities database.
    • To undertake all administrative tasks relating to the above
    • Any other duties which may reasonably be requested by the CEO.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

    • Demonstrates experience of delivering ambitious targets
    • Team lead/people management experience which can be applied to
      volunteer management.  Qualities such as being a motivator, confident
      and outgoing disposition, creative and energetic
    • Excellent organisational, time management, project management, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work on own initiative/self starter
    • To be innovative
    • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office suite)
    • Ability to work within a small team, particularly with volunteers & supporters
    • Full clean driving license essential
